Australian Focused, Innovation and Self Realisation

Alpha Incubation Group (AIG) has initiated the contest with a theme of “Australian Focused, Innovation and Self Realisation” to

  • encourage young people’s innovation and entrepreneurship (IN&EN);
  • provide a platform for young people to present their innovative ideas and projects;
  • discover local pre-eminent people and projects;
  • support young entrepreneurs via an incubation system with experienced mentors from various industries & sectors to help them bring their innovations to fruition; and
  • provide entrepreneurs with opportunities of further development and commercialization.

 

 

Incubation Teams and center

  • Mentoring and guidance to further develop innovative ideas accompanied by feasible business plans
  • Provide office facilities with administrative and technical support, seminars, discussion and training sessions under mentors

 

Project Commercialisation

  • Commercialisation and funding opportunities, including:
  • China Australia Entrepreneurs Fund (CAEF) will provide funds from $100k-$1 million to selected projects
  • Some mentors will provide funding opportunities for selected projects
  • Funds from Australian government and industry
  • Partners in China (government and industry)

 

Government Support

  • Opportunities for selected contestants to attend similar contests and funding opportunities in China, including Tianjin, Shenzhen, Suzhou, and Wuzhou .
  • Application for entrepreneurship and research capital from relevant Australian government departments and industries will be coordinated

 

  • Having new and innovative ideas, or with a desire to participate in such innovation projects
  • Having relevant background (but not limited to education and experience) for the chosen projects/industries
  • At least one participant of a team must have competent English

 

 

 

Cash awards   

 

  • First Prize:   $10,000
  • Second Prize:  $5,000
  • Third Prize:   $3,000
Funding  
  • The First and Second Winners will have the opportunities to obtain direct funding from investors (including venture capital

         and private investors) of $100,000 up to $1,000,000.

  • The Third Winners will have the opportunity to develop their ideas further with mentors through the incubation system.

First Stage: Registration & Ideation

From 26 March 2018 to 16 April 2018

Students are invited to create an account on the platform and participate to the challenge
Next, present your team idea by submitting the following:

A 5-slide presentation answering the following:

Slide 1: create an account,
Slide 2: complete the business plan from,
Slide 3: submit the business plan,
Slide 4: the proposed technical solution,
Slide 5: the Business Model, it is very important that you include it! Feel free to use the CANVAS model to guide you, here’s a template.

Second Stage: Project accelerations

From 16 April  2018 to 6 May 2018

The 9 selected teams will have 15 weeks to work on their projects (file and proof of concept). They will have the support of Valeo and recognized for their experience and professional expertise, like scientists, designers, sociologists and architects

 

Third Stage: Final Pitch & Awards

30 June 2018

On 30th June, all finalist teams will have 10 minutes to pitch their project, followed by a 10 minutes Q&A session with judges.

The judges will select the 3 winning teams!
