Special Theme Seminar Successfully Hosted by Alpha Incubation Group and WA Chinese Chamber of Commerce

The Alpha Incubation Group successfully held a Special Theme Seminar on the Alpha Innovation Contest, hosted by the WA Chinese Chamber of Commerce, where peoples from the Northern hemisphere mixed cheerfully with their Southern hemisphere hosts.

Many distinguished guests had attended the seminar, including Hon Pierre Yang (Member for South Metro Region Legislative Council, Parliament of Western Australia), Rob Delane, (Deputy Director General, International Education, Trade and Investment, Dept. of Jobs, Tourism, Science & Innovation, Government of WA), Michael Faulkner (Director of the International Economic Development Department, Joondalup Municipal Government). Other participants, including professors from the major universities of WA, elites from business and investment industries, entrants who had signed up for the Alpha Innovation Contest also attended the seminar. Nearly 100 seats in the Conference Hall were packed, and some audience could have to stand to observe this entrepreneurial feast.

Seminar Content

The seminar began at 4:30 pm on June 6th. The representative of WACCC, Mr. Jeffrey Cha opened the seminar with a welcome speech and briefly introduced the theme of the seminar. Dr. Liang Fen, Chairman of the Alpha Innovation Contest Organizing Committee, introduced the Alpha Incubation Group and the upcoming Alpha Innovation Contest in August.

Keynote Speeches

The first keynote speaker, Mr. Rob Delane, undertook a speech entitled “Innovation and Leadership”. Mr. Rob first congratulated the Alpha Incubation Group on the progress made in the preparation and business development of the contest so far and clearly expressed the Western Australian government’s strong support for innovation and entrepreneurship campaigns. He also shared with the audience his recent trip to China. He deeply expressed his feelings about the Chinese government’s support for social development and support for innovation and entrepreneurship. In his speech, he also showed Ma Yun’s photo on the screen and stated this “small” Chinese business icon and magnificent development blueprint to motivate the audience, especially young people in the business community.

Then Dr. Simon Minaee of Murdoch University and Mark Da Silva, Managing Director of Concept Marketing made speeches entitled “Innovation and contact with the society” and “Marketing and commercialization”. Both of the speakers were very down on earth and encouraging. The participants were inspired by the keynote speakers and filled with innovative ideas, and they also had some enlightenment to the elites among the guests who had been successful in business fields for many years.

Hon Pierre Yang made a brief speech at the end. He first wished the Alpha Innovation Contest successful. He hoped that the Alpha Incubation Group would be active in local innovation campaign while creating local employment opportunities. He hoped Alpha Incubation Group could bring Western Australia’s new technologies and new business models to the global market.

Presentation of the Certificate of Appointments

The final section of the seminar was the presentation of the certificate of appointments by Dr. Tim Song, CEO of Alpha Incubation Group, for the Alpha Contest Mentor and Judging Panel, the Contest Advisory Panel and Advisory Committee Members of Alpha Incubation Group. The panel members included senior government officials, university professors, industry elites, investors and partners. Dr Song warmly thanked everyone for their continuous support for the Alpha Innovation Contest and Alpha Incubation Group.

After the seminar, the incubation consultation and network cocktail party lasted till 7:00 pm. All the guests were very satisfied and looking forward to the exciting presentation of the contestants on the Alpha Innovation Contest in August.
